Job overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced audiologist to join our audiology service at Kettering General Hospital. The role offers an opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the advancement of our Audiology Department.
The department manages both paediatric and adult Audiology services. While the role is predominantly paediatric, there may be opportunities to work with adults.
Main duties of the job
* Perform age-appropriate audiological testing on children aged 6 months to 18 years.
* Lead in Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) clinics, making clinical decisions based on results.
* Conduct paediatric habilitative verification and validation for hearing aid fittings.
* Assess and rehabilitate adult patients, including referrals, fittings, repairs, and ENT cover as needed.

Person specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hon) Audiology or equivalent (BAAT Part 1+2)
* Registration with AHCS or HCPC
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* MSc in Audiology
* Membership of BAA/BSA
Knowledge
* Extensive experience in paediatric audiology
* Assessment, fitting, and verification of hearing aids in children
* Experience with VRA, distraction techniques, impedance testing, and OAE
* Teaching experience for junior staff
* Diagnostic ABR testing experience
* Experience in tinnitus rehabilitation for children
Skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* British Sign Language (BSL) skills
