Primary Tutor Opportunity - Alnwick Area
Are you passionate about supporting young learners to reach their full potential? We're currently working with local schools and education services in and around Alnwick, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Tutor.
This rewarding role involves working one-to-one with children, helping them build confidence, close learning gaps, and stay engaged with their education. Sessions may take place outside of a traditional classroom setting and often involve working with pupils who require a more tailored approach to learning.
We currently have a reception aged pupil who is currently not accessing education and is needing a tutor to work with him 2 hours daily. We also have similar roles across Northumberland if you wanted to fill your diary up.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Delivering high-quality, engaging sessions across a range of subjects - primarily at Primary level (Key Stage 1 and 2)
2. Supporting children who may be working below age expectations or need additional guidance
3. Planning personalised learning that responds to individual needs, interests and learning styles
4. Encouraging consistent progress by providing clear feedback and setting achievable goals
5. Building strong, positive relationships that promote motivation and trust
6. Managing behaviour and engagement through effective strategies and a nurturing approach
What We're Looking For:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum (English and/or Maths especially valued)
3. Experience working with children who have SEND, SEMH, or other additional needs
4. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain - we can help with this)
5. Two recent professional references covering the last two years
