<div><h3>Charge Nurse</h3><p>The closing date is 05 June 2026.</p><h3>Overview</h3><p>We have an exciting opportunity within Ward 4 Newsam of the Male Adult Acute inpatient service. The role is for an experienced Band 5 staff nurse or an established Band 6 nurse who is ready for a new challenge. You will lead the team on this busy, energetic, and ever‑changing ward, ensuring high standards of care and operational effectiveness.</p><h3>Main duties</h3><p>The Charge Nurse will perform inpatient nursing duties such as managing medication, attending multidisciplinary team meetings, and providing one‑to‑one activities with service users. At a senior level, you will provide leadership and management support to the ward alongside the Clinical Team Manager, deputise in their absence, assist with supervision, appraisal, staff development, clinical governance, caseload management, and overall team guidance.</p><p>You will be encouraged to develop your specialist skills and knowledge through participation, reflection, supervision and training, with a strong focus on service improvement and individual professional development planning.</p><p>Staff are expected to work a full range of shifts across a 24‑hour, 7‑day pattern, including nights and weekends.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Registered Nurse in Mental Health with a minimum of 18 months experience working with individuals with mental health problems.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Leadership experience gained through practice and/or qualifications.</li><li>Experience or exposure related to managing staff.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge</h3><ul><li>Commitment to continuous service improvement.</li></ul><h3>Values</h3><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to recognise and address small issues before they become larger.</li><li>Supportiveness towards colleagues and patients.</li><li>Display of kindness and understanding.</li></ul><h3>Disability and Visa Policy</h3><p>Applicants requiring a visa to work in the UK must meet the Trusts sponsorship and Home Office requirements.
