A respected manufacturer based in Mildenhall, Suffolk is expanding its team to meet increasing demand and is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their workshop. This hands‑on role involves the creation, upkeep and enhancement of production tooling within a well‑equipped and supportive environment.
Pay & Hours
This is a full‑time permanent position offering a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (OTE) per annum, depending on experience. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.
Responsibilities
* Manufacture, modify, repair and maintain production tooling and fixtures
* Work with traditional toolroom and workshop machinery
* Support production by troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing improvements
* Assist with tooling trials, testing and fault finding
* Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure tooling reliability and longevity
* Maintain accurate documentation relating to tooling and maintenance activities
* Work within ISO quality and regulatory standards
* Attend occasional UK/international travel for project‑related work
* Participate in relevant training courses to support ongoing development
Qualifications
* Proven experience working as a Toolmaker or within a toolroom environment
* Experience using toolroom/workshop‑based machinery
* A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Toolmaking or equivalent hands‑on experience
* A proactive, self‑motivated attitude and strong teamwork skills
* Confidence with written and verbal communication, including MS Office
