We are currently looking for an Asphalt & Recycling Manager, to be based at our Mansfield plant, reporting into the Area Operations Manager. Whilst at understanding of asphalt production is preferrable, you don't necessarily need to be an expert in asphalt as full product training will be provided. You will however have transferrable experience of managing a high performing team working in a similar operational environment where colleague engagement, safety and efficiency are key. The core duties of this role include, but not limited to: Driving on our commitment to reducing and reusing waste Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships Ability to balance thoroughness with commercial demands Strong people management skills, with experience in employee relations, performance management, recruiting, training and coaching. Compliance - Educate, inform and challenge where necessary Taking ownership of all compliance and safety training for the plant department and employees. Overseeing personnel training for all plant employees, including training on the operation of equipment and machinery. Ensuring Site Health and Safety standards are prioritised and maintained at all times. Management of KPI/Budgets/Targets, Recycling Budgets You will ensure the asphalt unit complies to ISO 9001 & 14001 You'll oversee the continual improvement of the site practices take ownership of the site PPM scheme and the effective maintenance scheduling. Clear and confident communication skills (verbal and written) Proven decisive leadership qualities, first rate communication skills (verbal and written) and a strong customer focus, coupled with a positive outlook and the ability to work independently. Highly developed and creative approach to problem solving. Good interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and proactive. Can work independently or as part of a team. Shows initiative, drive and enthusiasm. Pragmatic with a flexible approach to work. Accuracy and attention to detail. Existing knowledge of recycling management would be beneficial but not essential, preferably with WAMITAB or working towards Full, clean UK driving license, as this role may require occasional travel to other sites Ideally QCF Level 4, or equivalent, or willing to work towards this A good level of IT/PC Literacy, especially in relation to software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
