Our IT team is looking for a talented and driven Cyber Security Analyst to play a critical role in protecting the Society’s systems, data and services at a time when cyber threats continue to evolve at pace.
Working closely with the IT Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our cyber defence — monitoring, analysing and responding to security events, strengthening controls, and continuously improving our security posture. You may already be operating in a cyber security role within a regulated environment, or you may be ready to take the next step in your career, bringing curiosity, resilience and a strong sense of ownership to everything you do.
This is a hands‑on, impactful role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, stays calm under pressure and takes pride in preventing issues before they escalate. You’ll be technically capable, commercially aware and confident communicating with both technical and non‑technical colleagues. Just as importantly, you’ll be passionate about cyber security education, helping to build awareness and capability across the wider Society.
If you’re motivated by purpose, thrive on responsibility and want to make a tangible difference every single day, this role offers challenge, variety and real influence.
* Monitoring and analysing outputs from cyber security tools to identify early indicators of compromise
* Responding to cyber events and incidents, recommending and taking action to protect systems and data
* Fine‑tuning and enhancing existing security controls to maximise their effectiveness
* Coordinating regular testing, audits and external security assessments, ensuring findings are risk‑assessed and remediated within agreed timescales
* Assessing cyber security risks associated with new and existing suppliers and services
* Supporting the development, maintenance and testing of cyber incident playbooks
* Producing clear, insightful cyber security reporting and contributing to relevant forums and committees
* Delivering cyber awareness training, including phishing simulations, to strengthen security culture across the Society
* Providing out‑of‑hours support as part of the IT Incident Response Team
