Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced 2nd Line Support Technician to join our IT support team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing technical support and ensuring the integrity and availability of our IT systems. This role requires a strong understanding of disaster recovery, backup strategies, and the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd line technical support to clients and internal teams, resolving complex IT issues promptly.
* Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
* Monitor and respond to support tickets, prioritizing and escalating issues as necessary.
* Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and provide detailed reports on performance and areas for improvement.
* Assist in the implementation and configuration of backup and recovery solutions.
* Collaborate with 1st line support to ensure seamless escalation processes and knowledge transfer.
* Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices for future reference.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to disaster recovery and backup solutions.
* Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a 2nd line support role, with a strong focus on disaster recovery and backup support.
* In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Acronis, or similar technologies.
* Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
* Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
