We are looking for someone with a consolidated experience in made-to-measure dressmaking, with strong machine sewing and overlocking skills. This presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled Dressmaker to showcase their talent and contribute to the creation of high-quality garments. You must have experience with bridal and special occasion dressmaking although you will not be involved with fittings.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating custom couture and bridal garments from patterns, and altering existing garments. This position requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and stitching
Measure and cut fabric and other materials based on patterns and designs
Sew and assemble garments according to customer specifications using a sewing machine.
Utilize industrial sewing machines and other tools to craft garments with precision.
Use various sewing techniques and equipment to create high-quality garments.
Perform alterations and adjustments to garments as required.
Follow pinning and written sewing instructions accurately.
Check for defects in the finished product.
Meet production deadlines while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting efficiency and creativity.
Please note that this position requires experience as a professional dressmaker. Experience working in a warehouse setting is not relevant to this role.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bridal and Occasion Dressmaker, demonstrating proficiency in cutting, garment construction and assembly.
Exceptional attention to detail and precision in both measurements and sewing.
Excellent knowledge of different fabrics, their characteristics, and appropriate handling methods
Ability to interpret patterns and follow instructions accurately.
Excellent time management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
