Overview
We are working with a leading UK infrastructure and engineering organisation delivering complex projects across regulated sectors, including transport, energy, water, and defence. The business is known for its strong engineering capability and involvement in major national infrastructure programmes, operating within highly controlled environments that demand high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed 3D designs and models using Autodesk Inventor
* Design structural steel equipment including stillages, cradles, stacking blocks, and other cylinder storage solutions
* Develop storage systems for sample bottles, such as racks and storage arrays, within designated rooms
* Design mechanical handling equipment, including overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and rail transporters
* Create models suitable for visualisation purposes and integration into the facility BIM model
* Produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings to support design development and delivery
* Support material selection and determine appropriate material thicknesses for structural performance
Skills & Experience
* Expert‑level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
* Proven experience developing 3D models using structural steel components
* Strong understanding of material selection and structural design considerations
* Experience producing GA drawings
* Background in mechanical handling or industrial equipment design preferred
* Ability to work within secure and regulated environments
