Assistant Maintenance Manager - Suffolk/Essex Border - £30,000 - £35,000
The Job:
As Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will support the delivery of construction, maintenance and infrastructure projects across a large rural estate. Working alongside the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating day to day activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a hands on role combining practical work with team supervision and project coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the maintenance and repair of estate infrastructure, including fencing, structures and general site upkeep
- Assisting with construction projects such as buildings, site developments and seasonal installations
- Helping plan workloads, labour, and materials to meet project deadlines
- Monitoring progress on site and resolving day to day operational issues
- Supporting cost control by promoting efficient working practices
- Ensuring all work meets required quality and technical standards
- Assisting in supervising site operatives and providing cover for the Maintenance Manager when required
- Working closely with other departments across the wider business on projects and operations
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
The Candidate:
- Have experience in construction, groundworks or general estate maintenance
- Be hands-on, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Have the ability to organise tasks and manage changing priorities
- Be confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Have some experience supervising staff or be ready to take that next step
- Have a good understanding of health & safety on site
- Be a strong communicator with a problem solving mindset
- Be flexible, particularly during busy seasonal periods
The Package:
- Salary £30,000 -£35,000 DOE
- Full time, permanent position

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
