Position Overview:
We seek a skilled Process Engineer to join a growing Engineering team, focusing on optimising manufacturing efficiency through innovative tool and process design. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline production, reduce costs and ensure compliance with defence industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Design engineers, Production team and Quality team to align product designs with production techniques alongside the requirements of part inspection and group policy.
* Define and document production processes for the manufacture of components and assemblies.
* Develop process control sheets, work instructions and drawings for new tools/processes.
* Analyse existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
* Work with the Production and Continuous Improvement Manager to implement and promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies within the company.
* Resolve production issues related to tooling and processes, conduct analysis (Risk, FMECA, tolerance...) and employ problem solving techniques to resolve these issues quickly and effectively.
* Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the industrialization phase of new parts/products.
* Collaborate with counterparts in Belgium and the USA to ensure processes and tooling are aligned within the FN Browning Group.
* Ensure adherence to Engineering and defence regulations (ITAR, MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, ISO 9001, BS 8888…), and Industry safety standards.
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related equivalent experience preferred.
* 3-5 years in process/manufacturing engineering experience.
* Experienced with tooling and fixture design, CNC machining, manual machining.
* Ideal experience use of CAD software (Solidworks & CREO preferable).
* Ideal experience of CAD/CAM software (EdgeCam & One CNC preferable).
* Ability to read, understand and create CAD data in accordance with BS 8888, ISO GPS….
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
* Experienced with manufacturing processes (Heat treatments of steel, Surface coatings, Machining techniques etc.) ideal.
* Experienced with MS office.
* French language knowledge ideal.
Working hours:
* Monday-Thursday. 6:30am-4:20pm
