The role involves teaching Upper KS2 and Lower KS3 students delivering a variety of subjects in a cross curricular approach, with some teaching of lower level science. Olympus is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in South Croydon, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 11-19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs. About our School (11-16) Our school is located in a quiet area on the edge of ancient woodland, providing the ideal environment for our students to learn and achieve. We have co-regulation rooms on both floors, a sensory activity room, break out classroom, library, science laboratory, computer room and one to one rooms. At Olympus, we have a dedicated team of staff who deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, very similar to the National Curriculum. Students have the opportunity to take qualifications from Entry Level to GCSEs in a range of subjects, choosing options in year 10. At Horizon Care and Education, our teachers will be supported by our Director of Curriculum, Headteachers, SENCos, Operational Directors and the Managing Director of Education Services as well as our extensive therapeutic team. What we’re looking for from you: QTS or QTLS Qualification Have proven teaching and learning experience Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience. Be an outstanding classroom practitioner. Have the energy, passion, and drive to raise standard. Have initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills. Have experience of working with students with SEMH and additional needs. Have knowledge and understanding of developments in education. Why work for us?
