Due to an increased requirement for skilled machinists, we are now actively seeking an apprentice to strengthen our existing team, manufacturing high specification components in both low and high batch sizes as well as giving input into improving current methods.
This is an important role within our close knit team and will cover many aspects of manufacturing within a busy engineering environment.
This apprenticeship will be in conjunction with Training 2000 who will provide education via block release in the first year and day release in subsequent years.
THE COURSE:
We are offering a full–time permanent opportunity where you will enrol you onto a 4–year Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship program.
TRAINING PROGRAMME (not limited to):
During the programme the apprentice, supported by a mentor and the team will learn to carry out the following duties safely and accurately:
* Turning
* Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines
* Surface and Cylindrical Grinding Machines
* CNC programming
* Working safely in a busy machine shop environment
* Reading technical drawings
* Accurately measuring parts
* Designing and making fixtures
* Process improvement
* Accurately recording times and defect/scrap rates
* General workflow within a busy engineering environment, from raw material to finished component.
