About Our School
Located in Andover, our school accommodates up to 60 pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. We are dedicated to creating a positive and empowering environment where every child feels valued and respected. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Keeping the school premises clean, safe, and secure, including the building and grounds.
* Performing cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
* Supervising school cleaning staff and promoting health and safety.
* Managing porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
* Reporting any issues to the Head Teacher and maintaining the general premises.
* Arranging larger repairs and obtaining quotes from contractors.
* Conducting daily cleaning and emergency cleaning duties.
* Ensuring the security of the school premises as the main key holder.
* Carrying out regular health and safety checks and advising the Head Teacher on security matters.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Previous property maintenance or caretaking experience, preferably in a school environment.
* Experience in building maintenance and security systems.
* A solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal abilities.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* A willingness to work with SEMH children.
* A UK Driving License and your own transport.
* Readiness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
