Business Development Manager – LED Retrofit & Emergency Lighting
A well-established provider of LED upgrade and emergency lighting solutions company, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team ahead of a planned retirement in March 2026. The company focuses on retrofit and compliance-led lighting systems — supplying FM companies, electrical contractors, and end users across London and the Home Counties.
The Role:
Responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing surveys for lighting upgrades — primarily in existing commercial and public buildings with outdated fluorescent systems. This includes conducting on-site surveys, producing ROI calculations, quoting, and winning the business.
This is not a project/specification sales role. Instead, it focuses on practical, technical sales to FM contractors, electrical contractors, and direct clients, often in live buildings with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct surveys on existing lighting systems and generate technical/commercial proposals
Produce ROI calculations and lighting upgrade designs for retrofit projects
Work closely with internal design and production teams to deliver bespoke solutions
Develop and convert new business opportunities in your territory
Build strong relationships with clients and ensure repeat business
Ideal Candidate:
Background in lighting sales, particularly retrofit, LED, or emergency systems
Comfortable conducting surveys and explaining technical value propositions
Strong commercial acumen with a proactive, can-do attitude
Able to work independently while collaborating with a wider sales and technical team
Based in West London, Berkshire, or surrounding Home Counties
