​ Job reference 338530 Account Manager - North East (Fixed Term 12 Months) Fixed Term, Full time York, Humber & Teesside We are looking for a commercially driven Regional Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of key customers across a defined geographic region. This field-based role is focused on retaining revenue, unlocking growth opportunities, and building strong, long-term customer relationships that deliver value for both Royal Mail and our customers. About the role • Manage and grow a customer portfolio of around 65 accounts within your region. • Deliver revenue growth through retention, upselling, price optimisation and share-of-wallet expansion. • Develop and execute robust account plans aligned to regional and portfolio objectives. • Act as the customer advocate, resolving issues and coordinating internal support teams. • Mitigate competitive threats by positioning Royal Mail solutions effectively. • Lead deployment of new products, initiatives and customer-specific solutions. • Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and pipeline management in line with sales standards. About you • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive revenue and profitability. • Experience managing customer portfolios and building long-term, value-based relationships. • Confident negotiator with a challenger mindset and customer-first approach. • Highly organised self-starter, comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal. • Able to analyse trends, identify opportunities and translate insight into action. • Experience in a B2B sales or account management role is desirable. Please Note If you are currently employed on a fixed term contract and are successfully appointed to the above role, you will be offered a further fixed term contract of employment. If you are successfully appointed to the above role and it’s a promotion from your current grade, you will be offered a temporary promotion. This will mean you remain on the terms of your substantive grade and move to the grade of the new role on a temporary basis (for the period of time set out within the advert). Please note - Where an employee is temporarily promoted into a senior manager role, the temporary promotion does not attract the benefits of the higher graded temporary role. It is the successful candidate’s responsibility to liaise with their current line manager to discuss the option to return to their substantive role after the temporary term ends or find an alternative position. If this is not achieved the candidate would become surplus and the business will, where possible, redeploy them into a vacant position.
