We’re recruiting for a Test Technician (Mechanical Bias) to join a dynamic engineering team working on advanced drivetrain testing at one of the UK’s most prominent test and research centres.
Key Requirements:

Time-served Mechanical or Multi-skilled Technician/Engineer
*
TMJI certification – torque/tensioning & bolting systems
*
Hands-on experience with mechanical plant installation, fault-finding, and maintenance
*
Familiarity with torque and tensioning equipment, gauges, sensors, and measuring systems
Desirable Experience & Skills:
*
Hydraulic system operation and installation
*
Experience with milling/lathe machines and welding
*
Forklift truck and overhead crane licences
*
First Aid certificate and lifting/slinging qualifications (PUWER/LOLER)
*
Knowledge of HSE procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
*
Exposure to renewable energy or test facility environments
Role Overview:
As a Test Technician, you'll support the delivery of customer test programmes by installing, operating, and maintaining test equipment. You'll work closely with Test Engineers and clients to ensure safe, efficient test operations both on-site and occasionally off-site.
Weekly basc hours 37.5
Monday to Friday
£22.50 per hour
Overtime 1.5x and 2.0x (ADHOC)
Typical Responsibilities:

Install and decommission test rigs in line with engineering documentation
*
Operate test machinery safely and within defined parameters
*
Assist with calibration, fault-finding, and routine maintenance
*
Support visiting clients and issue relevant safety permits
*
Uphold high standards of QHSE across the facility
