Join our laboratory team and play a key role in keeping environmental testing moving. You’ll prepare samples, carry out routine chemical analysis and help maintain the equipment that keeps our lab running smoothly. If you enjoy practical work, solving problems and being part of a team that delivers reliable results, this could be the role for you.
Fancy earning a little extra? We run a 1 in 4 weekend overtime rota, there’s extra overtime up for grabs, and you can also earn a performance based bonus for smashing it in the role.
What you will do
* Keep the lab running smoothly by working with other departments and staying on top of housekeeping.
* Get samples ready for action and carry out routine environmental testing.
* Keep worklists up to date so every sample knows where it’s going and when.
* Run daily quality checks and help investigate anything that doesn’t behave as expected (NWR).
* Look after lab equipment with routine maintenance and calibration so it’s always ready to perform.
* Keep an eye on AQC charts to make sure results stay reliable and on track.
* Prepare and analyse PT samples and help figure out what happened if results go off course.
Who you are
* Chemistry or science related degree is beneficial.
* A good grasp of chemistry and how things work in a laboratory environment.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and lab systems to keep data organised and up to date.
* A reliable self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
* Equally happy working independently or teaming up with others to get the job done.
* Well organised with solid time-management skills and the ability to keep things moving under deadlines.
* A clear communicator with a flexible, can-do approach to problem solving.
