Job Description
Veritas Education are working in partnership with secondary schools across Wakefield to recruit reliable and confident Daily Cover Supervisors to support with short-term absence cover.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in schools, recent graduates, or experienced classroom staff seeking flexible work.
The Role
* Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during teacher absence
* Deliver pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Support pupils to stay on task and engaged
* Provide feedback to teaching staff where required
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, etc.)
* Confident leading a classroom independently
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Flexible, reliable, and professional
* An interest in education and supporting pupil progress
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential.
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
* Two professional references
* Ability to travel to schools across Wakefield
