An opportunity has arisen for a permanent part time post within the Eden musculoskeletal physiotherapy team, based at Penrith hospital. You will have a varied caseload as the department receives self-referrals as well as referrals from General Practitioners and consultants. You will also deliver group exercise sessions within the department's gym area. With several very experienced clinicians within the team, you will be well supported with your clinical professional development. The department supports many pre and post graduate students with placements and you will be involved in their supervision as part of this role.

To work autonomously with an independent caseload undertaking assessment, diagnosis, and treatment and providing appropriate advice

It is the individual's responsibility to demonstrate an awareness of clinical and professional limitations knowing when and where to seek further information, guidance and advice

Regular review with senior staff of clinical caseload and priority setting (Daily/Weekly), through clinical and management supervision

There is access to a Senior Physiotherapist should problems or queries arise

To participate in audit and research activities as under the direction of the line manager/ senior staff.

The individual will work within recognised departmental policies and procedures and will follow the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy rules of Professional Conduct.

All NCIC employees have a yearly appraisal: with regular management supervision, clinical supervision through in-service training and regular "face to face" clinical supervision from more experienced members of the team.

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure

the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
