* This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity and an opportunity to develop or extend your competencies in working with children and young people (0-19 years). You will provide a high standard of Occupational service working as an autonomous practitioner delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic management of children across Northern Lincolnshire (Grimsby and Scunthorpe). To take responsibility for a caseload of children 0-19 years including those with equipment needs and within a variety of settings.

CLINICAL
* Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients (0-19 years) including those with diverse or complex presentations or multiple pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and a range of assessment techniques including manual assessment to provide an accurate diagnosis.
* Work within the agreed ‘core offer’ of service delivery and ensure that there is a focus on achieving agreed outcomes and working towards discharge right from the start of involvement.
* To deal with emotive and stressful situations in a calm and sensitive way, using effective communication skills to establish rapport and maintain a partnership approach with children, young people and their families.
* To demonstrate and apply a broad level of understanding of the effect of disability and recommend environmental adaptations, specialist equipment and strategies to assist.
* Evaluate progress, reassess and alter intervention programmes as required.
* To write reports for a range of purposes and audiences as required e.g. child protection, Education Health and Care Plan, Single Assessment.
* Represent the Children’s Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Service and/or individual patients at MDT meetings t
* To liaise effectively with all those involved in the child or young person’s care and delivery of their individual plan.
