NDT Technician- Bathgate The Role NDT Technician competent in manual ultrasonic testing (MUT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) of welds and components. Certification in MUT of tees, nodes and nozzles is advantageous. It is preferred, but not essential that the successful applicant is qualified in MUT of forgings and visual testing (VT) of welds. The role involves working as part of the quality control team to support fabrication, machining and welding operations in manufacturing and remanufacturing of standard connector products and capital drilling equipment. An understanding of HSE and QA requirements within an engineering organisation is required. Responsibilities * Maintaining a safe working area and performing tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures. * Preparation of scan plans. * Preparation of NDT records all products in accordance with project quality control plans and specifications. * Accurate reporting of defect size and location including sketches. * Verification of NDT equipment prior to use. * Carrying out NDT activities as required. * Liaising with clients and 3rd party inspectors on a regular basis. * Maintenance of traceability logs in the fabrication and welding department. * Supporting goods-in and final inspection operations when required. * Uploading completed NDT Reports to the document control system.
