Moorcroft Wood Academy is a one form entry primary school; situated next to Moorcroft Wood, we are extremely lucky to have extensive school grounds. We promote self-esteem, enabling pupils to enjoy learning and achieve their full potential within a happy, caring and friendly environment. We are proud to be part of the Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust, made up of nine schools all working collaboratively.
We have an opportunity for a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant (depending on experience) to join our Specialist Resource provision, The Nest. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a team of experienced staff working together to provide a happy learning environment for a small group of pupils who either have an Education, Health and Care Plan or are on their journey towards this.
Location and role details: Bull Lane, Bilston, West Midlands, WV14 8NE. Permanent position. Hours are term time plus 5 training days, 31.25 hours per week. Salary ranges depend on level: Level Two – Grade 4 SCP 006 – 011, £18,879.68 - £20,443.72; Level Three – Grade 5 SCP 006 – 011, £19,886.49 - £22,635.89.
Responsibilities
* Establish good working relationships with colleagues and the SENDCO
* Work with the SENDCO to establish an appropriate learning environment
* Support the delivery of learning activities and assist pupils 1:1 and in small groups
* Promote positive values and attitudes
* Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
* Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed
* Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet lesson plans and relevant learning activities and assist pupils in their use
* NVQ Level 2 Qualification in supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is required
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Makaton training would be an advantage

* Good knowledge of the curriculum
* Ability to support children at all levels, with a focus on pupils with SEND
* Commitment to working within a team to provide quality services for our children and families
