Our client is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee the daily administration of the payroll system, ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and contractual requirements, and that payments are processed accurately and on time each month.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supervising the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payments, timely production and validation of payslips, statutory returns, and reports.
* Serving as the escalation point for internal queries from the Payroll Team and other departments.
* Managing workload distribution among Payroll & Pensions Officers, covering during absences, and supporting peak periods.
* Administering multiple pension schemes, ensuring proper reporting and timely handling of queries.
* Ensuring statutory and pension scheme compliance, including pension returns and auto-enrolment.
* Processing monthly payroll, including post-payroll reporting and ledger uploads.
* Preparing and reconciling month-end payments and returns (HMRC, pension administrators, etc.).
* Collaborating with internal and external auditors and providing necessary information.
* Staying updated with relevant regulations and sharing information with the team.
* Working closely with other Operations teams to ensure efficient processes and contribute to service improvements.
* Supporting the Payroll Manager in developing payroll services and identifying efficiency opportunities.
* Acting as Deputy for the Payroll Manager when needed.
* Performing other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
