Finance Officer – Higher Level (Band 4)
Location: Ballymena
Rate of Pay: £13.57 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Immediate start, temporary position
Working Model: Potential for hybrid working following induction
Role Overview
A Finance Officer (Higher Level) is required to support the full range of financial management activities within a busy operational finance environment. The successful candidate will assist in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective budgetary controls, and providing support and guidance to budget managers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with the development and maintenance of effective budgetary control systems.
2. Prepare and input approved changes to financial systems.
3. Support the production of financial management reports, including investigation of variances.
4. Create and maintain budget reporting structures for managers.
5. Provide management information, advice, and training to budget holders and participate in financial review meetings.
6. Carry out variance analysis and ad hoc investigations as requested.
7. Complete payroll and non‑pay expenditure adjustments.
8. Assist with identification of funding relating to vacancies and organisational changes, including preparing staffing establishments.
9. Perform other duties appropriate to the band as required.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following:
16. Three years’ relevant finance experience; or
17. Certificate for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 4) plus two years’ relevant finance experience.
Other Requirements
18. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered).
Skills and Abilities
19. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
20. Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
21. Ability to analyse financial information and communicate findings clearly.
