Industrial Automation Application Engineer – South East UK, you must live within this area
Please note: You must be a full UK citizen living and working in the UK to be considered for this opportunity. You must also have relevant industrial automation application support experience covering electric drives, pneumatics, control systems, and PLC programming.
This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading industrial automation equipment suppliers as an Application Engineer covering South East UK. The successful candidate will be required to live in the South East area of the UK. This is a work-from-home role.
The Application Engineer is an expert providing technical consulting and solutions for key Industrial Automation applications to the Sales Teams during the pre-sales phase across various industry segments, considering commercial aspects when proposing solutions and supporting assigned projects. The specific fields of expertise for this role include commissioning, software, and control functionalities.
Key Aspects of the Role:
* Translate multi-technological solutions into detailed designs in pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software areas using the latest technologies.
* Assess the technical feasibility of proposals based on industry and technology segment knowledge.
* Prepare specification lists and write technical elements for customer proposals.
* Create Requirement Specifications with customers.
* Ensure project deadlines are met and oversee project realization.
* Report on relevant activities and developments, maintaining accurate project data in company information systems.
* Handle complaints by establishing action plans if necessary.
* Discuss machine concepts to optimize designs, define specifications, and develop concepts.
* Support the drafting of account plans.
* Act as an interface between customers and relevant departments during pre-sales, in coordination with the sales engineer.
* Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to the team for specific products and applications.
* Support compliance with norms and regulations.
* Identify and support project wins.
* Manage project commissioning at customer sites, coordinating technical activities.
* Contribute proactively to marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
