We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of an eCrime Enforcement Officer, on a 3.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £16.05 - £20.14 per hour Summary: North Yorkshire Council is seeking a motivated eCrime Enforcement Officer to support the National Trading Standards eCrime Team (NTSeCT).
The core focus of the role is to investigate, disrupt, and prevent consumer harm caused by illegal online trading activities, including counterfeit goods, illicit tobacco, and online fraud. The postholder will work closely with trading standards teams across England and Wales and external partners, such as Police and HMRC, to ensure intelligence is properly captured and acted upon. For senior grades, responsibilities include leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and overseeing complex investigations.
This is a hybrid, largely desk-based role, with occasional travel for operational assignments, meetings, and disruption work, which may involve unsocial hours. Responsibilities: Investigate incidences of e-crime, including cross-region or national significance cases.
