About the Role
One of my local government clients is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Planning Administrator to join the Royal Borough of Kingston’s Planning Department on a temporary assignment.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting the planning process — ensuring applications are validated, documentation is accurately maintained, and stakeholders receive excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:

Process and validate planning applications in line with national and local requirements
*
Upload application documents to the council’s Document Management System
*
Prepare and send statutory notification letters
*
Notify agents/applicants of invalid applications and provide advice as needed
*
Respond to inbound enquiries from the public, agents, and internal departments
*
Manage competing workloads and meet tight deadlines
*
Ensure records are accurate and maintained in accordance with council procedures
About You:
*
Previous experience in planning administration or local government preferred
*
Excellent organisational and communication skills
*
Confident using IT systems and databases
*
Able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
*
Strong attention to detail and a professional manner
