We are seeking a full time Speciality Doctor in Acute Medicine to join us in providing high quality acute and general medical care for the people of Fife, working within an enthusiastic and progressive team. Applicants must have full MRCP(UK) or equivalent.
The post attracts 10 sessions of which the majority will be in Acute Medicine. This will involve working on the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, Flow and Navigation Centre and the Medical Admissions Unit seeing new and review medical patients. There will also be opportunities to work on the High Dependency Unit and look after general medical in-patients.
Speciality Doctors will work alongside trainees from the South East Scotland training rotation. The successful candidate will be allocated an Educational Supervisor to support them in their ongoing training and facilitate appropriate training opportunities tailored to the individual’s interests and training needs. Development and maintenance of a portfolio is encouraged with annual appraisal undertaking during the post.
The post would be suitable for someone aiming for CESR acquisition in Acute Medicine. This is supported by the Clinical Director, Associate Post Graduate Dean and Director of Medical Education. You would also have access and support from our SAS Education Advisor.
On Call work will initially be on the middle grade (registrar / ST) level rota, providing medical cover for the medical admissions unit and the hospital. Exact commitments to be negotiated.
