Senior Practice Accountant
* Job Type: Full-time

We are excited to be partnering with a small independent firm in Bristol who are looking for an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant to join their firm with the ultimate goal of taking ownership of the practice.You will have significant control over your work portfolio, hours, and location and share in their ethos of providing excellent client service and communicating with the clients at their level, explaining technical jargon where appropriate.This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a variety of business sectors and systems, enhancing your skills and paving the way for progression to directorship and eventual ownership.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Monitor service delivery to ensure high standards.
* Provide excellent customer service and nurture client relationships.
* Prepare statutory financial statements, corporation tax returns and computations, as well as accounts and returns for sole traders, partnerships, and charities.
* Review accounts and returns prepared by junior staff.
* Handle preparation and review of VAT returns and client bookkeeping.
* Review payroll calculations and reports.
* Analyse client financial data to provide insightful feedback.
* Assist with key tax planning for clients.
* Stay updated with continuous professional development.
* Train and support junior accountants.
* Optionally develop and maintain the firm's social media presence if it appeals to you.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in practice, or at least 10 years at a senior level.
* Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, including FRS 102 Section 1A.
* Basic VAT knowledge with the ability to research unfamiliar topics.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage and develop client relationships.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency in desktop and cloud accounting software and Microsoft Office.
* Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, capable of working independently and objectively.
