Support Worker – Supported Accommodation (16–21) – Uxbridge, London
Full-time & Part-time hours available
We're looking for caring, resilient and motivated Support Workers to join our semi-independent supported accommodation service in Uxbridge. You'll be supporting young people aged 16–21, including care leavers and those with additional needs, to develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently and move forward positively in their lives.
This is not a children's home setting — our focus is on empowering young people to build independence while ensuring they feel safe, supported and encouraged.
What you'll be doing:
* Supporting young people with day-to-day independent living skills (budgeting, cooking, cleaning, appointments, education and employment)
* Building positive, professional and trusting relationships
* Encouraging personal development, emotional wellbeing and resilience
* Supporting young people to manage risks and make safe choices
* Liaising with social workers, education providers and external agencies
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to support plans
* Promoting safeguarding and maintaining a safe living environment at all times
About you:
* Experience working with young people (16+) in supported accommodation, leaving care, youth work or similar settings is essential
* Understanding of the challenges facing care leavers and vulnerable young adults
* Calm, patient and resilient approach with strong communication skills
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting independence
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) desirable – or willingness to work towards
* Enhanced DBS check required
Hours & Pay:
* Full-time and part-time contracts available
* Shift work including evenings and weekends
