Overview
Motor Neuron Disease Association Senior Research Nurse role at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. The post is to start as soon as possible for 4 years in the first instance.
Job Description / Responsibilities
* Be an experienced Research Nurse with experience of working with patients and participants with MND.
* Maintain effective working relationships with the MND Association and NIHR Regional Research Delivery Networks; oversee the MND clinical trials portfolio locally and manage recruitment within a regional, collaborative strategy.
* Work in partnership with the MND Association Lead Research Nurse, UHS Senior Research Nurses and Matrons, NIHR Regional Research Delivery Networks, Head of Nursing and R&D infrastructure to provide high-quality coordinated research care for individuals diagnosed with MND and their caregivers, guided by a specialised neurologist.
* Provide leadership, support, training, and education for the trials team; directly manage patients on clinical trials.
* Demonstrate leadership, liaise, negotiate and influence; able to work in an open-plan office and accommodate study protocol timings; travel to local, regional and national meetings; may require home or off-site visits as appropriate.
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Nurse on the relevant part of the NMC register
* Experience of teaching and mentorship
* Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience
* Recognised qualification in teaching and mentorship
* Recent experience of working with patients at a senior level
* Clinical Research experience
* Relevant speciality experience
* Recent NHS experience or equivalent; knowledge of RGF, ICH/GCP
Desirable
* Recognised qualification in teaching and mentorship
* Recognised qualification in relevant speciality
* Research coordinator experience
* Experience of budgetary control

* Band 7; Fixed term contract; 48 months
* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per year (pro rata)
* Working pattern: Full-time / Part-time
