To deliver energetic and high-quality Physical Education lessons on a temporary or ad-hoc basis, ensuring students continue to learn, grow, and stay active when permanent staff are absent. The Supply PE Teacher will not only help maintain continuity of learning but also bring a fresh sense of enthusiasm and variety to the PE curriculum.
This role is about more than just supervising lessons, it’s about inspiring young people to enjoy sport and physical activity, whether that’s on the field, in the sports hall, or during a team game. The Supply PE Teacher will encourage students to build their physical skills, develop teamwork and resilience, and understand the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle.
Above all, they will create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where every student feels motivated to take part, try their best, and maybe even discover a new sporting passion along the way.
Job Specification
We have regular supply teaching jobs for Physical Education (PE) Teachers available to qualified teachers who can teach Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5).
Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) looking for teaching work in PE should also register with us.
As a PE Teacher you’ll be expected to:
1. Hold QTS status
2. Teach all areas of your subject specialism
3. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
4. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
5. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
6. Maintain discipline
7. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
8. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
9. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
10. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
