About Your Role
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to support our workloads in the south and south east regions, based out of Southampton, Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Brighton, Cambridge, Guildford, Reading, or London.
* Work directly with clients to meet their sustainable transport needs, managing traffic engineering and road safety schemes, analyzing collision data, and undertaking Road Safety Audits.
* Support the team as a Road Safety / Engineering designer across various projects, helping to grow client relationships.
* Prepare and review reports, drawings, schedules, and other documents following local procedures.
* Manage project financials.
* Perform technical reviews of design deliverables.
* Collaborate with the Liveable Places team, transport colleagues, and the wider WSP business to achieve objectives.
Your Team
The Liveable Places team works with a range of UK authorities and private clients to deliver schemes from concept to delivery, including public realm, traffic engineering, transport planning, and more. What We Are Looking For
* Knowledge of the Safe System approach.
* Experience managing colleagues and projects, including budget monitoring.
* Expertise in road safety, highway design standards, and safety solutions for all road users.
* Significant collision data analysis experience and ability to derive safety solutions; qualified as a Team Leader per DMRB GG 119 and capable of conducting Road Safety Audits.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and build stakeholder relationships.
