A welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Chorley, Lancashire is seeking a Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join their team on a full-time basis from February 2026. This role is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role
As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning within the Design & Technology department. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for DT lessons
* Maintaining and organising workshops and classrooms
* Ensuring tools and machinery are safe, serviced, and fit for purpose
* Supporting practical lessons where appropriate
* Managing stock levels, ordering resources, and maintaining inventories
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations at all times

The Ideal Candidate

* Experience working in a DT environment (school-based experience is essential)
* Practical skills and confidence using DT tools, equipment, and machinery
* A strong understanding of health & safety procedures
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
