Overview
We have a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) opportunity for a new member to join our multidisciplinary Stroke Early Support Discharge team as a Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant. We are looking for a kind, passionate, organised and resourceful Rehabilitation Assistant to provide stroke specialist rehabilitation within our welcoming team, to meet the physical, cognitive and functional needs of patients following a stroke in the community. The role is based in the community and will involve driving and weekend working. The organisation has been awarded an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Responsibilities
* Assist the multidisciplinary team to provide stroke specialist rehabilitation under the direction/guidance of registered clinicians to patients in the community.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver rehabilitation programmes to stroke survivors in the community.
* Work with patients and their families under the direction of registered clinicians.
* Perform indirect tasks which support the patient’s care and therapy needs, such as administration tasks and management of equipment.
* Engage in manual handling activities and personal hygiene care tasks; work with people who have challenging behaviours as part of the care plan.
* Based in the community with driving and weekend working as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant role; ability to work within stroke rehabilitation in the community.
* Physical and mental resilience; ability to engage in manual handling and personal care tasks.
* Ability to drive (or have access to suitable transportation) and willingness to weekend work.
