Overview
Under the supervision of the licensed nursing staff, provides direct patient care to assigned patients to ensure patient comfort, safety, and hygiene needs.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
1. Assists patients with basic care tasks, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, transferring, ambulating, transporting, and making beds.
2. Cleans and maintains equipment, patient rooms, and other areas as assigned.
3. Measures and records vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, glucometer readings, oxygen saturation, weight, intake and output, and food consumption.
4. Reports patient status changes or requests to licensed nursing staff during rounding and when responding to call lights.
5. Documents patient care information according to policies and procedures in the medical record.
Qualifications
Job Specifications (Minimum Requirements)
* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to clearly communicate patient's status and care issues to Licensed Nursing Staff; communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff; complete assigned tasks independently.
* Education: High School Diploma/GED required; healthcare/medical assistant experience preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant certification; CPR certification.
