Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our team based in Northwich, managing projects across the North of England .
This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering technically interesting projects within a respected specialist contractor.
The Role
The Contract Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects from pre-start through to completion. Projects typically range from £5k to £1m and include conservation, restoration and specialist faade works.
You will manage several projects simultaneously while working closely with site managers, clients, subcontractors and specialist craftspeople to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
The role will involve a mixture of office-based work in Northwich and regular site and client visits .
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion
Deliver multiple projects concurrently across the North of England
Plan and manage project programmes and delivery schedules
Oversee commercial performance and project budgets
Manage and support site managers and supervisors
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders
Procure and manage subcontractors and specialist trades
Ensure works meet conservation, restoration and quality standards
Maintain high standards of health and safety
Monitor project progress and resolve delivery challenges
Experience and Skills
We are looking for someone with strong construction delivery experience, ideally within restoration or specialist works.
Essential:
Proven experience managing construction projects
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organisational and communication skills
Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
Practical understanding of construction processes and materials
Desirable:
At least 5 years experience within restoration, heritage or specialist construction works
Background in stone, timber, masonry, faade or concrete repair works
Experience working on historic or listed buildings
Construction-related qualification or degree
