Job Summary
This role is based at the Breightmet and Little Lever Primary Care Network. The successful candidate will work across the Breightmet and Little Lever PCN practices alongside other GPs employed by the GP Federation. Working hours are 08:00–18:30, Monday to Friday, in accordance with BMA recommendations. As a newly‑qualified GP within two years of qualification, you will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS Contract, which include:
* In‑person consultations
* Telephone consultations
* Visits to patients at home and in nursing homes
* Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
* Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
* All aspects of clinical administration
Key responsibilities also include taking accountability for the highest standards of professional decision‑making for both self‑referred and referred patients, screening for disease risk factors, providing comprehensive clinical management, initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals, and developing care plans in line with NICE and local protocols. You will record clear consultation notes, participate in audits and learning events, prescribe generically in line with formularies, compile computer‑generated prescriptions, and support the practice in achieving QOF and other KPI targets.
