Overview
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Syon Grange School. You will work collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice in an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities while considering the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding an occupational therapy caseload, with full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This role suits a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.
Location
Syon Grange School, Isleworth, London, TW7 5AJ. Flexible to work across our Hillingdon Manor sites as required. Syon Grange forms part of our Options Autism and is an independent specialist day school supporting young people aged 16 to 25.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils in an education setting.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with supervision and site leadership support.
* Collaborate with the education team and contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Support the growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants as part of developing an enhanced OT offer.
* Contribute to a multidisciplinary clinical team focused on person-centered provision and safeguarding.
Contract and Hours
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, overlapping with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Location flexibility described above.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
* Valid and up-to-date HCPC Registration.
* Registered member of RCOT.
* Relevant experience providing OT services in a similar setting (preferable).
* Experience with neurodivergent individuals and/or those with learning, socio-emotional, or mental health needs; transferable skills demonstrated.
* Strong knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
* Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty (preferred).
* Ability to work independently, be flexible and confident.
* Clear and concise report writing skills.
* Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory-informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferable, though not essential).
Salary and Benefits
* Salary up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (split payments after probation milestones; terms and conditions apply).
* Basic grade OT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly Specialist from £48,000+ (depends on grade).
* £2,000 training allowance to support role-specific training after probation.
