Role Overview
An experienced registered nurse is required to join the senior head and neck nursing team on Ward C4E as a permanent Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. Ward C4E is a 14‑bed ward specialising in ear, nose and throat (ENT) and oral maxillofacial (OMF) care.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical management of head and neck patients, including complex airway management.
* Act as a role model and lead by example in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills, delegating effectively and coordinating the team.
* Monitor and audit nursing standards, manage conflict and patient flow, and support safety and morale.
* Provide direction, support and training to the nursing team.
* Assist in creating a happy and safe environment for staff and patients.
Requirements
* Registered nurse with NMC registration.
* Extensive experience in head and neck nursing and airway management.
Working Hours
Full time, predominantly day shift with occasional night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
Location
Base location: Poole Hospital, with relocation to Ryde Bay Hospital soon. The service is planned to move from Poole to Bournemouth in 2026 (date to be confirmed).
