Our CESR rotational programme at University Hospitals of Leicester is an exciting opportunity intended to provide the clinician with the support and training required to successfully complete all aspects of the CESR process. We are one of the largest maternity units in the United Kingdom offering all aspects of specialist and sub‑specialist care in obstetrics and gynaecology. Our department is renowned for its training and support. The Consultant body has current MRCOG examiners as well as experience at successfully becoming a Consultant via the CESR process supported by this department. There will be a specifically‑designed training and teaching package for all successful applicants and there will be a designated Consultant supervisor for the duration of the rotation who will guide completion of the CESR dossier. This includes a formalised in‑house Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) (in addition to appraisal for revalidation purposes). The rotation is initially offered on a fixed‑term contract for 8 months until August 2026. The post holder must be registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice.
