Consulo First are proud recruitment partners to a globally recognised engineering manufacturer, widely regarded as one of the market leaders in high-performance motion technology and precision engineered systems.
We are seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to manage and grow a key territory across North West England, supporting OEMs, machine builders, systems integrators, and major manufacturing customers.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a premium brand known worldwide for engineering quality, product innovation, and solving complex customer challenges through consultative technical sales.
The Company
Our client is an internationally respected manufacturer specialising in advanced motion solutions used within some of the world’s most demanding industrial environments. Their products are trusted across automation, robotics, packaging, aerospace, medical, food production, electronics, renewables, automotive, and specialist machinery sectors.
Their reputation has been built on precision engineering, reliability, application expertise, and the ability to improve machine performance where standard solutions fall short.
The Role
This is not a catalogue sales role. It is a technical consultative position focused on understanding customer applications, diagnosing challenges, and developing engineered solutions that improve productivity, accuracy, speed, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
You will work closely with customers from concept stage through design, specification, quotation, and project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop an established customer base across North West England, win new business with OEMs, machine builders, automation specialists, and end users, and identify new applications for advanced motion systems within existing and target accounts.
Visit customer sites to understand machinery, production processes, and technical challenges, recommending technically appropriate solutions for movement, positioning, handling, and automation requirements.
Influence specifications with design engineers and technical decision makers, produce commercial proposals, quotations, and solution presentations, and manage projects from enquiry through to order close and repeat business.
Build strong relationships with engineering managers, operations teams, buyers, and directors while maintaining accurate pipeline management, forecasts, and CRM records.
Work closely with internal design, applications, and customer support teams to deliver against sales targets, growth plans, and strategic territory objectives.
Typical Applications You’ll Support
Automated production lines, packaging and labelling machinery, precision positioning equipment, conveyor and materials handling systems, high-speed assembly equipment, medical and laboratory automation, bespoke OEM machinery builds, and multi-axis motion and handling systems.
Desired Product / Systems Knowledge
Candidates with experience in areas such as linear motion systems, guide rails, slide systems, track systems, ring systems, belt driven motion systems, rack and pinion assemblies, ball screw systems, mechatronics, robotics, cobots, bearings, power transmission, automation components, or precision mechanical assemblies will be highly attractive.
Candidate Requirements
Engineering degree or strong practical engineering background.
Proven success in technical sales, field sales, account management, or business development.
Ability to hold credible conversations with design and production engineers.
Experience selling engineered products, capital equipment, or technical solutions.
Strong commercial instinct with a consultative selling style.
Self-motivated, organised, target driven, and able to manage a territory autonomously.
Why Join?
This is a chance to represent arguably the world leader in its field, selling genuinely premium technology that engineers respect and customers rely on. You’ll be solving real technical problems, working on exciting machinery projects, and building long-term partnerships with some of the UK’s best manufacturers
