Job summary
We are seeking a Band 8a Lead Superintendent Radiographer to join the Radiology Centre leadership team at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
The post holder will primarily lead the multidisciplinary team at the Royal Shrewsbury site, managing multiple modalities including DXR, CT, MRI, NM, and interventional labs. Excellent communication skills are essential to process complex information and support service development to meet patient and stakeholder needs.
The role includes accountability for service delivery, liaising with service users and agencies, and managing complex imaging equipment to ensure compliance with IRR17 and IRMER regulations.

1. Manage a delegated budget ensuring cost-effectiveness.
2. Provide expert leadership across all modalities and develop strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications (Essential):
* DCR/BSc (Hon) Diagnostic Radiography
* Evidence of professional management development
* Highly developed specialist knowledge with theory and experience
* Postgraduate study to master's level or equivalent
Desirable: Management qualification
Management Experience (Essential):
* Significant management/leadership experience within Radiology
* Experience managing clinical and non-clinical risk
* Effective management of a complex, diverse workforce
Desirable: Service improvement and complex change management experience
Specialist Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (Essential):
* Managing staff groups to meet objectives
* Budget management skills
* Analyzing complex/conflicting information to resolve issues
Desirable: Knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodologies
