Neighbourhood Services. Can you make a real difference to the environmental condition of our neighbourhoods? If you know you can then we would welcome an application from you for the post of Street Scene Operative.
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Street Scene Operative to carry out environmental clean up work.
Working on your own or in a small team you will be cleaning all pathways, verges, road, shrubbed / grassed areas, parks and other public open spaces of litter, fly tipping, fly posting, dog fouling, graffiti and other wastes.
Duties also include carrying out difficult waste removal duties including building and private property clearance and handling of hazardous materials including cement / asbestos sheeting as and when required.
The successful applicants will be conscientious, flexible, trustworthy and have good communication skills. They will also enjoy working outdoors and in all weathers, be capable of undertaking a significant amount of walking and lifting throughout the day.
Based at the Argyll Road depot, the standard working hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3.00pm Friday but you may be asked to start work earlier if the task requires it or work later on occasion for the needs of the service.
You will also be required to work bank holidays and be included in overtime rotas if necessary.
