Our Binder Management team here at Gallagher are looking for an experienced underwriter to join our team as a Senior Underwriter on a hybrid basis out of our Guildford office. The main objective of this role is to underwrite key accounts, drive new business growth and ensure the operational effectiveness of the Public Sector Delegated Authority Agreements (DAA). This includes servicing, underwriting, and administering the DAA in a timely, professional, and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and responding to opportunities to increase the company's insurance income. Additionally, they will require strong technical underwriting knowledge in order to provide technical advice and support to the team. How you'll make an impact Responsible for day-to-day servicing and growth, of Public Sector DAA Carry out administration tasks in accordance with insurer procedures Process, record, and confirm instructions in a timely and efficient manner Provide weekly updates and management information as required for each DAA Identify under-insurance and potential gaps in client cover Ensure DAA are fit for purpose and provide feedback to business DAA leaders on product development Support with the testing requirements of system DAA developments Comply with regulatory requirements and company procedures Maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, insurers, and suppliers Identify training needs and development opportunities for broking team members Support activities and initiatives within the Public Sector Division Undergo training to stay updated with technical, legal, and market developments Maintain and develop personal knowledge and skills through CPD Promptly report problems outside of authority or experience level Assist with additional duties as reasonably requested Ensure good working relationships and maintain team morale at all times About you Proven experience in a similar role, within the insurance industry. Strong knowledge of Commercial Underwriting. Ideally well versed in Public Sector, but happy to consider those coming from General Commercial Insurance. Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII would be an advantage. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, confident when building and maintaining rapport, strong planning and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to analyse data and identify trends or areas for improvement. Risk aware in handling client information, 100% client centric, focussed on the best possible outcome for our clients at all times. Due diligence and process driven to deadlines, task focused, results oriented and takes initiative when supporting others Proficient in using Acturis or similar insurance software, and MS Office. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with insurers. A proactive and solution-oriented mind-set. Eligible to work in the UK.
