Teaching Assistant (KS1 Year) – Poole
Do you have a natural ability to connect with children and want to start or grow your career in education?
A welcoming mainstream Primary School in Poole is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their Year 1 class in Key Stage 1 from September 2025. Whether you have worked as a nursery nurse, childminder, sports coach, or dance teacher, your experience working with children is highly valued. A school tour will be offered before the interview to help you get a feel for the setting. Interviews will take place over the next few weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in delivering fun, engaging, and age-appropriate lessons.
* Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
* Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
* Provide encouragement and emotional support to pupils throughout the school day.
* Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure children’s progress and well-being.
Job Requirements of TA:
* Previous experience working with children in any setting (e.g., nursery, coaching, childminding).
* A positive, caring, and proactive attitude.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to learn and contribute to school life.
* A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via GSL).
