This post presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Practitioner to join the Tameside and Glossop CAMHS Single Point of Access Team (SPOA) and support the development of the CYPMH offer within local communities.
You will work in partnership with early help services and multi-agency safeguarding hubs to ensure accessible referral pathways, delivered in true partnership, so children, young people, and families in need of mental health advice and support can access services quickly and easily.
You will also lead and manage an established community-based workforce, supporting the implementation of the Thrive model of care for Children's and Young People's Mental Health (CYPMH). Additionally, you will help develop CAMHS Getting More Help and Getting Risk support offers, ensuring CYP who need help and treatment can access these services smoothly and promptly.
Your responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for professionals referring into Tameside and Glossop's SPOA, screening referrals, signposting to internal and external service providers, coordinating consultations with Locality Mental Health Practitioners (LMHPs), and ensuring timely service delivery.
You will provide management and clinical supervision to LMHPs, identify service gaps for escalation, and participate in panel meetings for cohorts with specific vulnerabilities, such as youth offending or cared-for children.
You will collaborate with colleagues in Social Care, Health, Education, and Police to ensure smooth transition and care coordination for young people with mental health needs. Children’s mental health and emotional well-being are key local priorities, supported by strong multi-agency networks and innovative service delivery approaches.
The role offers robust supervision, development opportunities in psychological therapies, and access to specialist training aligned with individual and team needs.
