Overview
Up to £53,835 + excellent benefits. This role starts in June 2026 at Bowersgate School, a purpose-built, brand-new state-of-the-art school that will cater for up to 72 pupils aged 6–16 with a wide range of needs including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
As an English Teacher, you will work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting them to learn, develop abilities, and raise self‑esteem. You will work alongside in‑house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals to deliver engaging lessons and support individual progress.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver lessons that support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and SEMH needs.
* Collaborate with psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals to support learning and development.
* Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes resilience and self‑confidence.
* Support pupil progress, record assessments and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
Qualifications
* Previous teaching experience.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Resilient, dedicated, and team‑oriented with a genuine passion for English.
