About the role
Vision for Education Midlands are recruiting a Humanities Teacher (RE / Geography / History) for a long-term maternity cover role starting September 2026 in a secondary school in Sutton Coldfield.
This is a full teaching role including planning, marking, and assessment, ideal for an experienced teacher seeking stability within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach Humanities (RE, Geography, History) across KS3 and KS4
2. Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for mixed ability, SEN, and EAL students
3. Plan lessons, mark work, and use assessment for learning (AfL) to track progress
4. Support students in preparation for GCSE exams
5. Maintain strong behaviour management and a positive classroom environment
Requirements:
6. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
7. Experience teaching Humanities subjects in UK secondary schools
8. Strong subject knowledge across RE, Geography or History
9. Proven ability to raise attainment and support student progress
10. Confident with planning, marking, and data tracking
